Every morning, Maria wakes up at seven o'clock. She lives in a small apartment near the park. She has a red bicycle. It is her favorite thing in the world.

Maria rides her bicycle to work every day. She works at a bakery on Green Street. The bakery opens at eight o'clock. Maria always arrives five minutes early because she likes to prepare the bread before the customers come.

At the bakery, Maria talks to many people. She knows all her regular customers by name. There is Mr. Johnson, who always orders two croissants and a coffee. There is also little Emma, who comes with her mother every Saturday and always chooses a chocolate muffin.

One afternoon, Maria finishes work and goes to her bicycle. But the bicycle is not there! She looks everywhere. She feels very worried. Then she sees a note on the door of the bakery. It says: "Your bicycle is safe. I found it on the street. — Tom, your neighbor."

Maria smiles. She goes to Tom's apartment and knocks on the door. Tom opens it and gives her the red bicycle. "Thank you so much!" says Maria. That evening, she rides home feeling very happy.
